Con Edison electric customers get an instant rebate on an ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater (up to 120 gallons) at participating Lowe's and Home Depot stores or through a contractor's distributor: $1,500 for purchases from September 1 to November 30, 2026, otherwise $1,300.

Instant discount at the register (or on the contractor's distributor purchase): $1,500 for equipment bought between September 1 and November 30, 2026; $1,300 for equipment bought before September 1 or after November 30. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 4 of these.
Active Con Edison electric account.
ENERGY STAR certified air-source heat pump water heater with up to 120 gallons of storage.
One rebate per electric account each year; two or more units for one address need prior approval from Con Edison.
The rebate must be applied at purchase at a participating retailer in the Con Edison territory or through a participating distributor; no reimbursement after the purchase.

How to apply
The discount comes off at the register. The $1,500 amount applies only to equipment bought September 1 - November 30, 2026; purchases outside that window get $1,300. The rebate must be applied at purchase; no reimbursement afterwards. Get approved before you buy anything.

Scan the QR code on store signage or visit VerifyConEdRebates.com; you need an active Con Edison electric account. The coupon comes by email or SMS.
- Pick an ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater (up to 120 gallons) at a participating Lowe's or Home Depot.
If it's out of stock, place a special order with the coupon at the store's pro services desk.
- Present the coupon at the register.
The retailer deducts the rebate from the price immediately.
- Or have your contractor buy a qualifying unit from a participating distributor.
The contractor gets the rebate as part of the installation.
