FAQ

Questions

How much does LG&E and KU Online Marketplace pay?

$5 to $75, depending on what you install. The table under How much you get lists each amount.

Do I need to be a LG&E or KU customer?

Yes. It’s only for homes in LG&E and KU customers, Kentucky. See Do I qualify for the details.

Can I combine it with other rebates?

Yes, with LG&E and KU Bring Your Own Thermostat. See Use it with.

Is it still available?

Yes. It was open when we last checked, on October 28, 2026.

Where does the store show the incentive?

Look at the two prices. Discounted items show a crossed-out full price and the discounted price, and the difference is the incentive.

Why can't I see a discounted price?

You may have reached the limit or have gas-only service. Once you've bought your one discounted thermostat or two plugs or strips, the discount no longer shows, and gas-only customers can't get discounted plugs or strips.

Will a smart thermostat work with my system?

Usually. ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats work with most heating and cooling systems; check the maker's compatibility details before buying.
