You apply online.

  1. Check your thermostat is on the eligible list.

If you don't have one, buy and install an eligible model first.

  2. Enroll through your thermostat maker.

Pick your thermostat brand on the program page and follow the enrollment steps on its site or app. LG&E and KU email you when your enrollment is confirmed.

  3. Request your $50.

After enrollment you get an email link to choose check or electronic payment.

  4. Take part in events.

Your thermostat is adjusted by up to 4 degrees for up to 4 hours during events; you can opt out of any event, but opting out of more than 30% of an event forfeits that event's $5.
