Central Hudson Electric Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate

Central Hudson electric customers get a $1,250 rebate on an ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater that replaces another type of water heater: instantly at Lowe's or by mail-in or online form from any retailer.

How much you get
$1,250 per heat pump water heater, as an instant rebate at Lowe's or a mail-in/online rebate check for purchases from any retailer. One rebate per account per year.
Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 3 of these.
Central Hudson electric customer; the unit must be installed at a separately metered dwelling unit (master-metered apartments may apply with unit numbers).
Must replace another type of water heating system; replacing a failed heat pump water heater is allowed with documentation of the failure and attempted repairs.
One rebate per account per year, and not if you got other state incentives (such as EmPower+) for the same unit.

What equipment counts
The program sets these minimums.
Must have a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) rating and a current rating of ≤ 24 amps and voltage of ≤ 250 volts, and must meet or exceed ENERGY STAR residential water heater requirements.
Applying
How to apply
Equipment must be purchased Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026; the form gives no submission deadline.
- For an instant rebate at Lowe's.
Visit CentralHudsonRebates.com (or scan the in-store QR code) with your Central Hudson account number; the code arrives by text and is redeemed at checkout.
- Or buy from any retailer and apply afterward.
Apply online at ch-nyshp.customerapplication.com, or email/mail the form with the sales receipt, a photo of the installed unit and a photo of the model and serial number plate.
- Receive the rebate check.
Five to seven weeks after submission.
