NJNG SAVEGREEN HVAC, Water Heating and Hybrid Heat Equipment Rebates

New Jersey Natural Gas customers get rebates for replacing a non-condensing furnace or boiler with a condensing model (up to $900 furnace, $1,750 combi boiler), for efficient water heaters (up to $750), and for AC and heat pumps bought with new gas equipment, including up to $4,000 for two-zone hybrid heat. Income-qualified customers get $300 more per piece.

How much you get
Up to $3,650 in HVAC and water heating rebates per project (furnace, heat pump and tankless water heater at the top efficiency levels), or up to $2,000 for a single-zone and $4,000 for a two-zone hybrid heat system. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 4 of these.
Must be a New Jersey Natural Gas residential customer.
A furnace or boiler rebate requires replacing an existing non-condensing furnace or boiler with a new high-efficiency condensing model. Replacing an existing condensing unit doesn't qualify. Include photos of the old equipment.
Air conditioner and heat pump rebates require buying a new natural gas furnace, boiler or water heater at the same time.

What equipment counts
The program sets these minimums for furnaces, ac and thermostats, water heaters and heat pumps.
- Furnaces
Natural gas furnace, 95% AFUE or higher.
- Boilers
Combi unit at 97% AFUE or higher for the maximum $1,750 boiler rebate.
- Water heaters
Tankless water heater at UEF 0.95 or higher for the maximum rebate.
- Heat pumps
Air source heat pump, ducted or ductless, sized to the cooling load: SEER2 ≥ 15.2, EER2 ≥ 11.7, HSPF2 ≥ 7.8.
- Heat pumps
Cold climate air source heat pump: SEER2 ≥ 15.2, EER2 ≥ 10, HSPF2 ≥ 8.1 and COP ≥ 1.75 at 5° F.
Applying
How to apply
You apply online. Equipment must be purchased and installed by June 30, 2027; apply within 120 days of purchase.
- Check that your equipment meets the efficiency levels.
Furnaces and boilers must replace an existing non-condensing unit.
- Have an independent contractor install it.
Get a permit; you'll need proof of it.
- Take photos of the old furnace or boiler before it's removed.
- Submit the DocuSign rebate application within 120 days of purchase.
Attach the paid receipt, proof of permit and the photos.

Up to $25,000 loan
New Jersey Natural Gas customers can finance up to $25,000 at 0% APR, repaid on the gas bill over seven years (up to 10 years for income-qualified customers), for high-efficiency heating, water heating and Whole Home Energy Solutions projects. The loan is net of NJNG rebates.
