JCP&L Appliance Recycling Program

JCP&L picks up and recycles old working refrigerators and freezers for free and pays $50 for each, plus $25 for each room air conditioner or dehumidifier picked up at the same time. Limit two fridges or freezers and three ACs or dehumidifiers per year.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 3 of these.
You must be a JCP&L electric customer.
You must own the appliances.
Refrigerators and freezers must be 10-30 cubic feet, plugged in and cooling at pickup. Air conditioners and dehumidifiers only qualify with a refrigerator or freezer. Limit two refrigerators/freezers and three ACs/dehumidifiers per calendar year.

- Schedule a pickup online or call 1-888-314-8141.
- Keep the fridge or freezer plugged in and cooling until pickup.
- Receive your check within six weeks after pickup.
