Tideland EMC bill credits of $100 to $400 for heat pumps that replace an existing heating system in a member's primary home in 2026, including geothermal, dual fuel and cold-climate variable capacity systems.
Amounts
How much you get
Electric bill credit: $100 for a 16 SEER air-source heat pump, $150 for 17 SEER or higher, $400 for geothermal, $400 for dual fuel (minimum 15 SEER), $400 for a hyper-heat variable capacity system with no heat strips. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 5 of these.
Tideland EMC member; the heat pump must be installed where Tideland EMC supplies the electricity.
Primary residence only.
Must replace an existing heating system; new construction doesn't qualify. Single add-on mini-splits don't qualify (multiple mini-splits for whole-house conditioning do). Gas packs and central AC don't qualify.
The HVAC installer's Manual J (system sizing) calculation must be submitted with the form.

Applying
How to apply
You apply by mail. Send it within 3 months of buying or by December 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
- Optional: call 252-944-2410 for a consultation before buying.
- Have the heat pump installed with a Manual J sizing calculation.
- Mail the 2026 Heat Pump Rebate Form within 90 days of purchase.
Include the Manual J calculation, the paid sales and installation invoice, and the manufacturer's efficiency certification. Send to Tideland EMC, Attn: Heidi Smith, PO Box 159, Pantego, NC 27860.
- Tideland may verify the installation; allow 4-6 weeks for the bill credit.
