NIPSCO Income Qualified Weatherization

Income-qualified NIPSCO customers can get a no-cost weatherization visit with an HVAC check, insulation inspection and free installed items such as LED bulbs, duct sealing and a smart thermostat.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 6 of these.
NIPSCO residential customer with active service.
Total household income on your 2025 tax return at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.
You must also receive LIHEAP (EAP), TANF or SSI.
The home hasn't had a NIPSCO-sponsored weatherization in the past three years.
The homeowner or account holder (18 or older) must be home for the whole visit, which takes 1-2 hours.
Renters need the landlord's written permission (Property Owner Authorization Form) before permanent products are installed.
