Ameren Illinois residential customers get an instant discount through their HVAC contractor on air source and ductless heat pumps ($900 and $630), heat pump water heaters ($1,150), smart thermostats ($115), geothermal heat pumps and energy recovery ventilators.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 3 of these.
Ameren Illinois residential electric customer, with the Energy Efficiency Programs Charge on the electric bill for the home. Smart thermostats also qualify for Ameren Illinois gas customers.
Smart thermostats need primary heat from Ameren Illinois-delivered natural gas or electricity; propane heat does not qualify for the instant discount.
The discount comes through a contractor who buys from a participating Instant Incentives distributor.

Equipment
What equipment counts
The program sets these minimums for heat pumps, water heaters and furnaces, ac and thermostats.
- Heat pumps
Ducted air source heat pump: 15.2 SEER2 (16 SEER) and 8.1 HSPF2 (9.5 HSPF) or greater as confirmed by AHRI; less than 65 kBtu.
- Heat pumps
Ductless mini-split heat pump: 16 SEER2 (16 SEER) and 8.55 HSPF2 (9.5 HSPF) or greater as confirmed by AHRI.
- Heat pump water heaters
ENERGY STAR listed.
- Geothermal heat pumps
ENERGY STAR certified, multi-stage/part-load capable, ECM blower motor listed on the AHRI certificate, closed-loop water-to-air; not paired with a gas furnace.
- Thermostats
On the program's Approved Product List (APL).
Energy recovery ventilator: listed in the Home Ventilation Institute (HVI) Certified Ratings Listing.

Your contractor applies for you.
- Check the requirements.
Read the Instant Incentives Fact Sheet so your contractor knows the efficiency and quantity limits.
- Pick a contractor.
Ask your own HVAC contractor to buy from a participating distributor, or contact an Instant Incentives Program Ally contractor.
- Get the discount on your invoice.
The distributor discounts the equipment and the contractor passes the savings on to you. There is no form for you to file.
