Eligibility

Do I qualify?

You need to meet all 4 of these.

  • City of Palo Alto Utilities residential customer with active electric and gas service.

  • The property owner must be the applicant (a rental property qualifies, but the owner applies). Renters can ask their landlord to apply.

What to doIf you rent, ask your landlord to apply through the Rebate Hub.

  • An installed cooktop or range must replace a gas one, be ENERGY STAR certified and be a permanent installation requiring a permit. A portable cooktop needs no removal of the gas range. One of each per account; a portable rebate rules out a later portable rebate only, not the installed one.

  • The higher income-eligible amounts are for residents who qualify for the Residential Energy Assistance Program (REAP), which requires enrollment in the Rate Assistance Program (RAP) for financial need.

What to doApply for CPAU's Rate Assistance Program (household income up to 80% of area median income).
