$450 for natural gas heat as the primary heat source (a gas pack, furnace or vented space heater of at least 50,000 BTU; one incentive per full 50,000 BTU increment), $150 per natural gas water heater. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility

Do I qualify?

You need to meet all 3 of these.

  • The appliance runs on Greenwood CPW natural gas (service in Greenwood and parts of Greenville, Abbeville, Laurens and Anderson counties).

What to doCheck the Greenwood CPW gas service area map; if gas is available at your home, request natural gas service.

  • For an existing home, the residence must be owned, not rented (builders apply for new construction).

  • Must be a new natural gas appliance in a new home or replacing one powered by electricity, propane or another fuel. Replacing an existing gas appliance with a new gas appliance does not qualify; gas logs, unvented heaters and gas as backup heat for a heat pump are not a primary heat source.

Applying

How to apply

Proof must reach CPW within six months after the appliance is installed. CPW can end or change the program at any time without notice.

  1. Check that CPW natural gas serves your home.

Use the service area map on the Greenwood CPW natural gas page, and tell CPW before adding gas appliances so it can check your meter.

  2. Have a licensed dealer install the new gas appliance.
  3. Get the gas connected and turned on by CPW.
  4. Send the rebate form with your receipt within 6 months of installation.

Use the PDF form or the online form. CPW verifies purchase, installation and service connection before paying.

    Go to greenwoodcpw.com

  5. Receive your check.

The form says to allow 2-3 weeks after work is completed. Any unpaid CPW balance is deducted first.
