PSE&G customers doing an HVAC Instant Rebates or Whole Home Energy Solutions project can pay for it interest-free on their PSE&G bill: up to $25,000, or up to $75,000 when up to $50,000 goes to heat pumps and other building decarbonization measures, over 84 or 120 months.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 2 of these, plus one that applies only in some cases.
Qualified PSE&G residential customer (or a Butler Electric customer with PSE&G residential gas service, for HVAC projects); the decarbonization allowance is for residential electric customers. The account holder at the property must sign the agreement.
12 months of continuous, on-time payment history with PSE&G. Newer customers can submit a letter of credit from their previous gas or electric utility. No credit check.
What to doIf you have been a PSE&G customer for less than 12 months, ask your previous utility for a letter of credit (for service within the past 24 months) confirming 12 months of on-time payments.

Up to $12,000
PSE&G electric customers who own a 1-4 unit home can get large instant rebates for switching from gas, oil or propane heat to a heat pump: up to $10,000 ($12,000 for low- to moderate-income households) for a full cold climate heat pump conversion, plus rebates for ground source heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, decommissioning, ducts and electrical upgrades.

Up to $7,500 back
PSE&G homeowners in 1-4 unit homes can hire a BPI-certified participating contractor for an in-depth home energy assessment and then get rebates of up to $7,500 on insulation, air sealing, ductwork, HVAC and other upgrades, with up to $25,000 of interest-free on-bill repayment.

You can reapply after 60 days. PSE&G also has an appeal process if you have a valid reason to be reconsidered sooner.
Can I pay it off early?
Yes, in one lump sum for the full remaining balance at any time. PSE&G can't accept extra payments toward principal once you're on an installment plan.
What happens if I close my account or move?
The unpaid balance is due to PSE&G within 30 days if your account is closed for any reason.
Can I use on-bill repayment more than once?
Yes, across different projects or programs, up to a maximum of $75,000 of credit per account.
