JCP&L Home Weatherization for Income-Qualified Customers
Run by Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), administered by CLEAResult
Moderate-income JCP&L customers (250% to 400% of the federal poverty guidelines, NJ SHARES participants, or homes in a moderate-income census tract) get a free home energy assessment and up to $14,000 in efficiency upgrades such as insulation, air sealing and duct sealing, plus up to $2,500 in health and safety repairs, at no cost.

No cost to the household: up to $14,000 in energy efficiency upgrades and up to $2,500 in health and safety improvements, depending on the home's needs and JCP&L's approval.

You need to meet all 5 of these.
You must be an active JCP&L residential customer with a valid account number.
Meet one of: your home is in a moderate-income census tract (FFIEC), you're enrolled in NJ SHARES, or household income is above 250% and below 400% of the federal poverty guidelines. 2026 limits: 1 person $39,901-$63,840; 2 people $54,101-$86,560; 3 people $68,301-$109,280; 4 people $82,501-$132,000; 5 people $96,701-$154,720; 6 people $110,901-$177,440; 7 people $125,101-$200,160; 8 people $139,301-$222,880; add $14,201-$22,720 for each additional person.

A single-family home or a building with one to four individually metered units.
Owners qualify; renters need the property owner to sign the Landlord Consent & Permission Agreement.

You must have owned or rented the home for at least 1 year, and the home must be 5 years or older and not under a builder's warranty. Homes in foreclosure or for sale aren't eligible.

Program valid January 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, subject to funding.
- Check the income guidelines or your census tract.
- Call 800-915-8309 (option 2) or send the application form.

- Schedule the in-home assessment.
An adult must be home during the visit.
- Approved upgrades are installed at no cost.
