South Central Indiana REMC pays up to $500 for a heat pump water heater or up to $200 for a Wi-Fi enabled electric storage water heater in a home it serves.

How much you get
Up to $500 for a heat pump water heater and up to $200 for a Wi-Fi enabled electric storage water heater, limited to 50% of the equipment cost. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 3 of these.
The unit must be installed in a home served by SCI REMC.
New or replacement heat pump water heater or Wi-Fi enabled electric storage water heater with a UEF of at least 0.90; Wi-Fi must be built in, not stand-alone.
Maximum of two water heater rebates per household over the 13-year lifespan of the equipment.

Applying
How to apply
You apply by mail. Applications must be received by December 15, 2026, within 90 days of installation.
- Install a qualifying water heater.
Keep an itemized invoice with the manufacturer/brand, model number and cost, and proof of the unit's UEF rating.
- Apply by the deadline.
Send the completed rebate application, itemized invoice, proof of the UEF rating and before-and-after installation photos. Applications must be received by December 15, 2026, within 90 days of installation.
