Arkansas Weatherization Assistance Program
Run by Arkansas Energy Office (Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment), with five local nonprofit providers
Free weatherization for low-income Arkansas households (income up to 200% of the federal poverty level, or on SSI or LIHEAP), based on a computerized energy audit of the home. Five nonprofit providers cover all 75 counties; owners and renters can apply.

Applying
How to apply
You apply in person.
- Find the provider for your county.
AEO's WAP CBO Contact Information page has a county map and drop-down list.
- Apply with that provider.
Bring income documents for the household, identification and your utility bills for the past 12 months. Renters also give the landlord's name and contact information.
- Energy audit.
A trained energy auditor inspects the home for energy and health and safety problems and writes up the work order.
- Work is done at no cost, then inspected.
Crews or local contractors do the work; the provider's quality control inspector checks it.
