Conversion rebates require the old primary heat to be electric resistance (baseboard, electric furnace, wall/ceiling heat) or, for upgrades, a ducted electric heat pump, serving at least 80% of the home. Gas, oil, wood, pellet and propane conversions don't qualify, except the dual fuel and gas radiant floor supplemental options.
Window heat pumps: homes with central air conditioning aren't eligible; the unit must replace a room AC, evaporative cooler or no cooling.
