Drive Clean Rebate for Electric Cars

New York residents who buy or lease a new eligible plug-in hybrid or battery electric car from a participating New York dealer get $500 to $2,000 off the price at the dealership, depending on the car's all-electric range and MSRP.

Taken off the price by the dealer. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 4 of these.
Your home is in New York.
The buyer or lessee must be a New York State resident.
A new car on NYSERDA's eligible models list, bought or leased from a participating New York new-car dealership. Used cars and out-of-state dealers don't qualify.
What to doChoose a model on the Drive Clean Rebate eligible models list and buy it from a participating dealer.
You must keep a purchased car at least 36 months; leases must have an original term of at least 36 months. NYSERDA may seek repayment of part of the rebate if you don't.

The discount comes off at the register.
- Pick an eligible model and find a participating dealer.
- Sign the Vehicle Purchaser Terms and Conditions at the dealership.
- The dealer takes the rebate off the price.
There is no paperwork for you; the dealer gets reimbursed by NYSERDA. You can't get the rebate directly from NYSERDA.
