Amounts

How much you get

The work is free to eligible households. The local agency's energy audit decides which measures are installed. DEQ says households can save up to $300 a year once the work is done. It's not a home rehabilitation program, so major repairs like roofs, windows and doors aren't covered.

Applying

How to apply

You apply in person.

  1. Find your local weatherization service provider.

Use DEQ's Find Your Agency tool. Providers vary by county.

  2. Apply with the provider.

The provider reviews your application and decides eligibility. Priority goes to elderly people, people with disabilities, families with children, high energy users and energy-burdened households.

  3. Home energy assessment (audit).
  4. The provider writes a scope of work and installs the measures.
  5. Final inspection.

An inspector checks that all work is complete and working properly.
