Paid once a year by rebate check at the anniversary of enrollment, if the water heater took part in at least 75% of event hours that season: $40 after the first year, $10 per year after that. The amount depends on which of these fits your install.

Eligibility
Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 4 of these.
Dominion Energy North Carolina residential customer on a residential rate who is responsible for the electric bill. Customers on a time-of-use rate can't join.
Single-family detached or attached home (townhome) or single-family manufactured, mobile or modular home.
An eligible ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater connected to home Wi-Fi.
What to doBuy an eligible connected heat pump water heater (Dominion's Water Energy Rebate pays $250-$400 toward one) and connect it to Wi-Fi.
Stay enrolled for a continuous 12 months and take part in at least 75% of event hours to earn the payment.

- Connect it to Wi-Fi and activate it in the manufacturer's app.
- Enroll online.
- Participate in events for 12 months.
The water heater must be in at least 75% of event hours.
- Receive the rebate check at your enrollment anniversary.
