Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate (BGE)

Up to $1,600 off an ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater, plus up to $1,500 (75%) toward home prep when you switch from gas, oil or propane. Instant store rebates end October 31, 2026; mail-in and online rebates run through December 31, 2026.

How much you get
Up to $1,600 on select models (not more than the purchase price). Switching from gas, oil or propane adds coverage of 75% of home preparation costs up to $1,500.

You get your utility service from BGE (Maryland).
One heat pump water heater rebate per address, for purchases after January 2, 2024. No mail-in rebate if you already got the instant rebate.
The electrification extras require installation by a participating contractor or through the Product Advisor.

How to apply
Instant rebates (online or in store at Lowe's or The Home Depot) end October 31, 2026. Mail-in and online rebates: buy and submit by December 31, 2026. Product Advisor purchases must be bought and installed by December 31, 2026.
- Choose how to buy: Product Advisor with install, participating contractor, any retailer plus mail-in or online form, or instant rebate at Lowe's or The Home Depot.
- Submit the rebate application if you didn't get an instant rebate.
