Fixed-rate loan of $2,500 to $20,000 with no down payment, repaid monthly on the local power bill; several upgrades can go on one loan up to $20,000. Warren RECC, West Kentucky RECC, Hopkinsville Electric System and Tri-County EMC each list 8% interest for up to 10 years. In Kentucky the term is at most 5 years when the loan is less than $3,001.

You need to meet all 5 of these.
Your local power company must offer EnergyRight financing. In Kentucky, Warren RECC, West Kentucky RECC, Hopkinsville Electric System and Tri-County EMC say they do; Pennyrile Electric's site links to it.
Credit score of 625 or above. TVA runs a soft credit pull.
For homeowners; the loan is secured by the installed equipment with a UCC-1 fixture filing. Tri-County EMC requires the borrower to own the home.
All upgrades must be installed by a member of TVA's Quality Contractor Network.

Enter your ZIP code, pick your power company, create an account and choose Apply for Financing. Upload your driver's license and most recent utility bill.
- Get an approval or denial by email.
Within 48 hours.
- Pick a Quality Contractor Network contractor and have the work done.
- Sign the loan documents electronically.
The contractor submits the installation; once you sign, the contractor is paid.
- Repay monthly on your local power bill.
