Equipment

What equipment counts

FAQ

Questions

How much does LG&E and KU Optimized EV Charging pay?

$5 to $25, depending on what you install. The table under How much you get lists each amount.

Do I need to be a LG&E or KU customer?

Yes. It’s only for homes in LG&E and KU customers, Kentucky. See Do I qualify for the details.

Is it still available?

Yes. It was open when we last checked, on October 28, 2026.

Do I have to buy a specific charger if I already own an eligible EV?

No. Owners of an eligible EV can use any Level 2 charger at home, because charging is managed through the car's own telematics.

Can I charge right away if I need to?

Yes. You can override the optimized schedule at any time, though opting out of a demand response event forfeits that month's incentive.
