Amounts

How much you get

A one-time annual benefit paid to your utility. The amount comes from a points matrix based on income, household size, fuel and whether utilities are in the rent, with extra points for a household member who is elderly, disabled, a young child or a veteran. IHCDA's PY2027 plan estimates the heating benefit at $100 to $625, plus an electric benefit of $50 to $125. Crisis help covers what's needed to stop a disconnection or restore service, up to $400 per utility ($800 if an electric furnace is the main heat).

What if I'm denied?

You can appeal in writing to your Local Service Provider or through the LITT portal within 30 days of the denial, or reapply with updated documents 55 days after your last application.
