The home must get electric service from CenterPoint Energy. If it has gas service, that must also be CenterPoint; homes without gas must heat mainly with electricity.
The home must be at least five years old.
No assessment in the last three years.
Renters of single-family homes or side-by-side units can take part with the landlord's approval (give the landlord's name and number). Stacked buildings of four or fewer units are directed to the discounted products instead; larger buildings may qualify for the multi-family program.
