Applying

How to apply

Get approved before you buy anything.

  1. Pick a qualifying upgrade and an EFS-enrolled contractor.

The upgrade must be eligible for a Nicor Gas rebate and cost more than $500 installed.

  2. Apply for the loan before work starts.

Apply online at ilenergyloan.com, on a paper application mailed to Energy Finance Solutions, 431 Catalyst Way, Madison, WI 53719, or ask EFS to mail you one. Online applicants get a decision within moments.

    Go to ilenergyloan.com

  3. Have the work done.

Sign the loan documents first. When the work is finished, sign the contractor's Certificate of Completion; EFS then pays the contractor.

  4. Apply for your rebate separately.

The loan application doesn't include the Nicor Gas rebate application.

  5. Repay on your gas bill.

Installments appear on your monthly Nicor Gas bill. If you move, the full balance is due with your last bill at that address.
