Do I qualify?
You need to meet all 2 of these.
MidAmerican electric customer in its Iowa or Illinois service area; MidAmerican must provide the primary electricity to the appliance.
The refrigerator or freezer must be working and cooling, plugged in at pickup, and 10 cubic feet or larger (no commercial sizes).

How to apply
You apply online. The 2026 Illinois residential programs run through December 31, 2026 or until funds are exhausted. Get approved before you buy anything.
- Schedule a pickup online.
Or call 800-621-2757 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) if you can't use the online tool or need a bulk pickup.
- Have the appliance plugged in and cooling at pickup.
- Receive $50 per appliance.
By check, Venmo or PayPal within four weeks of the pickup date.
