Eligibility

Do I qualify?

You need to meet all 5 of these.

  • ComEd residential customer. A landlord can get the discount on the landlord's account, or with the tenant's permission on the tenant's account.

  • Homeowners and landlords; tenants can let the landlord use their account.

  • Air source and mini-split heat pumps must be installed by a ComEd heat pump-trained contractor (no self-installs). Geothermal needs an ICC-certified ComEd Energy Efficiency Service Provider with geothermal certification. Heat pump water heaters don't currently need a ComEd-approved contractor, but the discount is applied on a contractor's invoice.

Use ComEd's Find the Right Expert list for a heat pump-trained contractor, heat pump water heater contractor or geothermal Energy Efficiency Service Provider. Call 855-433-2700 for help.

Get a quote from a contractor

  2. Choose qualifying equipment.

The contractor confirms the model meets the efficiency tier and is AHRI-listed. For geothermal, the provider gets pre-approval before work starts.

  3. Get it installed.

Self-installs don't qualify for heat pumps.

  4. Discount on your invoice.

No application. The discount is applied to your installation invoice; geothermal incentives may come as an invoice credit or a check after completion.
