$400 to $800, depending on what you install. The table under How much you get lists each amount.
Do I need to be a Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island or Maui County customer?
Yes. It’s only for homes in Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island and Maui County customers, Hawaii. See Do I qualify for the details.
Do I need approval before I buy?
The solar system must be on Smart Renewable Energy Export or Non-Export, or a legacy DER program (NEM, NEM Plus, CGS, CSS, CGS Plus, Smart Export). On legacy programs, any added generating capacity is limited to 1 kW. Enroll the solar system in Smart Renewable Energy Export or Non-Export through the Customer Interconnection Tool, usually with your contractor. An advanced meter is required. No. NEM and NEM Plus customers get only the upfront incentive; customers on other tariffs such as CGS or CGS Plus get a fixed monthly export credit.
Can I use an existing battery?
No. A new battery is required, and Battery Bonus participants can't transition into BYOD Plus.
