Eligibility

Do I qualify?

You need to meet all 4 of these.

  • Active PG&E residential electric customer (gas-only PG&E customers served by a municipal electric utility aren't eligible). The account doesn't have to be in the applicant's name.

  • A pre-owned (used) battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle with at least 8 kWh of battery capacity, bought or leased, registered to the applicant at the PG&E service address and kept registered in California for at least 20 months. Hydrogen and CNG vehicles don't qualify.

  • Rebate Plus only: household income within PG&E's county income limits for the household size (ZIP lookup on the program site), or enrollment in a qualifying public assistance program (CalFresh/SNAP, CalWorks/TANF, LIHEAP, income-qualified Medi-Cal, SSI, WIC, Head Start, Bay Area Clean Cars for All, Drive Clean in the San Joaquin Replace, PG&E Residential EV Charging Rebate Plus and others). Dependents and vehicles registered to a trust aren't eligible for Rebate Plus.

  • One vehicle per person for the life of the program; up to three vehicles per household. Not available for a vehicle that already got an SCE or SDG&E Pre-Owned EV Rebate or the California Clean Fuel Reward.
