If you switch a water heater from electric or propane to natural gas, it must be installed by an Alabama Certified Master Gas Fitter. Spire's guide says rebates can't be processed for appliances installed by an unlicensed contractor.

You apply online.
- Make sure the new appliance qualifies before you buy.
- Have a qualified natural gas contractor install it.
- Apply online in MyAccount.
From the "Options" menu select "Rebates" and enter the requested information, with a receipt showing manufacturer, model number, price, purchase and installation dates.
- Receive a prepaid gift card in the mail.
Spire says processing usually takes a couple of weeks.
